I am fairly new to reloading, so I have tried several methods of dispensing powder. I bought the Lyman Gen 6 System to replace an auto-disk system I had been using for several months. The auto-disk is a great system, but I was trying to load 380ACP ammo and some powders used such a small amount it was very hard to get an accurate charge. As a result, I was having to double check every charge and it seemed to take forever to load a box of ammo. I started using the Lyman Gen 6 System several weeks ago and for the first 100 loads, I checked the dispensed amount with another digital scale. A few charges were over by 0.1 grain a few were under by 0.1 grain, but over 90% were right on. The ones that were off showed to be off on the Lyman Gen 6. Now I feel comfortable using the unit without checking every load which greatly speeds up the reloading process. Other powder dispensing systems had extra features, like memory for storing charge data, but I am only loading 380ACP and 9MM and the Lyman Gen 6 is the best, most economical option for my use.

Worked for a while my mistake was leaving it in the box for a couple of years before using it when I got it out I only got 6 months use. Now it throws all kinds of amounts and requires a Cal Zero after each throw everyone I have spoken to has the same issue. Spend the extra and buy an RCBS!Lyman not interested.

I have used my new Lyman Gen 6 Digital Powder System several times now and find it is a spectacular reloading tool. It really saves time and work. Easy to set up and use you can set it and use the auto feature and by the time you seat and crimp the next powder load is ready to go! Clean up is also quick and easy. Very accurate too! so far it works well makes my loading faster and easier it will also tell you when to re calibrate it thats neat so far it has only throwd 2 charges that were .1 grain over out of 40 rounds with stick powder so thats great in my opinion so far i love it.

Bought this unit as it had pretty good reviews and the price was reasonable. Also helped as it had a fairly small foot print (due to my small reload bench, needed a smaller power dispenser).

Had an issue with it dropping .1 grain light on occasions. This was mentioned by other reviewers, whom stated that it always dropped .1 grain light. Mine only did this occasionally, so I had to always adjust the powder drop.

Ended up going with RCBS, which is bigger, but more accurate.

The Gen 6 is fast and does not overshoot. It doesn't matter if it's ball or extruded powder you are working with. If you have, or had, a Hornardy Autocharge you will appreciate this. Compared to the old RCBS Chargemaster this is much smaller and it is a single unit not some dispenser plugged into the back of a standalone scale. I do not have experience with the brand new RCBS Chargemaster Lite, but it looks very, very similar to the Gen 6 while being about 50 dollars more.

These scales are accurate and the most accurately repeatable scales I have used so far. They are easy to use, compact and reliable. The design is relatively simple reducing chance of malfunction and the calibration procedure is easy to follow.

This was a replacement to my worn out Pact scale and dispenser.

This is a night and day difference between features. So far it dispenses very accurately. I would occasionally get a tenth of a grain off during the dispense mode. I can live with this as it's 3 times more reliable than my old method and 5 times faster.

I also like the ease of emptying the hopper and the ease of cleaning the powder. This seems to have an edge over the competitor products which is my primary reason for choosing this over others.

I hope it runs as long as my Pact system did, which was 15 years.

This is a fantastic product. I purchased two this Christmas, one for my son and one for me. This made a tedious task much easier and more accurate. We have taken very precise measurements confirming that the powder is actually dispensed at an extremely accurate and precise rate.
