One fault in a good product
Has a rivet in the handle that holds the jaws, rivet becomes very hot during prolonged casting...but it can be dealt with by alternating the hand positions...

Hot Handles
The cross-pin that holds the wood handles to the metal jaws gets hot and burns your hand. Doesn’t make sense to have a hot spot on the handle. It does hold the mold at least. The handle is better quality than the mold I bought it for.

Lyman mould handles!!
If your looking for a very well made set of mould handles look no further than Lyman, the solid metal frame is perfectly machined to fit their mould blocks and the Hardwood handle is nicely pinned and says cool even thru long casting periods............... and Optics Planet.com has the best prices!

Lyman 4 Cavity Mold Handle
I currently have three 4 cavity Lyman mold handles purchased over the last 10 years. The Lyman quality and design has continually improved over these years and my latest handle is the very best! My oldest has the securing rivets protruding above the wood handle which is a potential hot spot while casting. My next oldest handle had recessed the rivets to eliminate the hot spots, but had a problem with its machining tolerance which prevented the mold from completely closing and was returned for a replacement. My latest handle has all of the previous design and manufacturing problems corrected and is a solid bullet proof design!

Lyman 4 cavity handles
Lyman handles are consistent. I have 6 pairs and they all are 100% accurate as far as the hole lining up to the molds. The handles are strong.
Pros: I have several pair. They all fit the molds with no problems.
