I have a Lyman M-Die for every caliber I cast and they are the best. The bullet goes into the case straight and no shaved lead or Powder Coat. I even use them when I load FMJ just for that extra precision.

Bells the case enough to make loading flat based bullets. Therefore the shoulder of the shell does not deform when seating and crimping. I was able to load 55 grain FMJ bullets without any problems.

Lyman does always work exactly as expected. The M dies are excellent for neck sizing rifle brass. Using an M die will help you get the most accuracy from your reloads. Highly recommend for reloading.

I used one like this at my friends house and knew I would have to order one. It is the sure way to start a bullet properly aligned in the thin neck of the Hornet! Or to start a lead bullet in larger caliber brass, use the proper Lyman M die.

Great die to have if you cast bullets.
It is recommended to use if you have a bullet feeder, it flares the neck allowing for a better seating when dropped by the feeder eliminating excess shaving of the projectiles.
Best Used for:
- Cast Bullets
- Bullet Feeder

a "must-have" when hand-loading cast-bullets for your rifle.
I have tried to load sized and lubricated cast lead bullets without using the "M" - die.
In most all instances, the bullet will shave lead in a properly resized case.
Reason - the cast-bullet and the neck size (from the sizer-die) are the same dimension.
So, if you're loading cast lead-bullets, this is die you've got to use.
Don't quibble - just get one"!
I now have them for my 30-30 & 308 Winchester & 35 Remington rifles.
Pros:
- properly expands cases for cast lead bullets
Best Used for:
- seating cast lead bullets

Great die though disappointed by the new lock rings Lyman now supplies.
The old ones were were fine, these new ones with the grub screw that tightens onto the threads are not an improvement but just a cost cutting measure.

The best way I have found to get thet cast bullet loaded without shaving lead off the side of you new cast projectile. I use one for each of my calibers, just makes reloading go so much more smoothly. One more tool made by Lyman that benefits the handloader big time. If you aren't using one, you need to start.

I have commenced loading hard cast polymer coated projectiles in .243 and .308, using standard dies was an issue as the gas check would enter easily but the standard belled case mouth would 'shave' the projectile. The M die has eliminated 'shaving the projectiles and ensured that I can now enjoy low cost practice!!!

The M die is a must for cast bullet loaders. Lyman makes the best neck expander on the market.
