NEW Lyman Revolution HD Gun Vise
Having decided to do everything myself,I made an extensive search for a gun vice that would REALLY provide a steady platform for mounting and bore sighting, even zeroing my scope on my new Winchester Model 70. After reading numerous reviews of OTHER "top rated" gun vices, I was unconvinced and gave up, thinking I would just go to my local gun shop. But I made one last search and discovered THIS vise which had JUST COME OUT. It arrived today. Very easy set up. Very well packaged. This is by far THE BEST GUN VICE ON THE MARKET. Infinitely adjustable, good price, solid as a rock in all of its com...

Great Vise
This is a very good vise. Very versatile with the ability to rotate side to side. It comes with the cradle style clamps for long rifles (non AR style) and AR magwell vise clamp that adjusts to hold rifle tight. It has feet that can be used to level the whole vise which is very helpful when mounting scopes. The cradles can be adjusted vertically and independently to allow leveling from stock to tip of barrel. They also can be moved closer together or further apart to account for longer/shorter rifles/pistols. The process to change from AR style clamp to the cradles is quick and easy, just a couple screws with large, easy to grab knobs. This is a pretty heavy vise, seems solidly built and sturdy.
The downsides are minor and for most applications probably won't be missed. First, it is heavy, but that is also good, should be sturdy and last. Second, It does not rotate or spin 360°. For most applications, this will probably not affect anyone. And last, the adjustment from side to side is not the best. When rotated, it locks into grooves, so you may have to wiggle to get teeth into grooves, so not 100% precise to level, but that is why the legs adjust as well.
I have not tried torquing a barrel, so can't speak on how well it does on more build based functions, but overall, I highly recommend this vise. It is versatile and sturdy (aluminum frame). Easy to adjust and use, simple design that just works.
