Very nice mould, waiting for warmer weather to try it out will make a nice plinking round, plan on powder coating them. My first Lyman can't wait to try it out, will work for several cals, got the best deal here.
Pros:
  • You get what you pay for.
Cons:
  • None

Undersize and inaccurate, not .311 diameter as specified

by Marshall N, from CA, United States Written on February 15, 2015
This bullet produced 8-10 inch groups at 50 yards from my .30 M1 carbine. Other bullets such as the Lyman 311359 or Lee #311-100-2R produce 2 inch groups at 50 yards. All bullets mentioned here were cast from Hardball alloy. The problem with this mold is that the front portion just forward of the front groove measures only .301-.302, which is a loose fit in the bore. The only portion of the bullet at .311 diameter is the last 1/4 inch of the shank at the base. This is not long enough to sufficiently engage the rifling and align the bullet to the bore.
