Heavy bear stoppers - Lyman Shotgun Bullet Mould: 12 Gauge Hollow Base - Sabot Slug (12ga Sabot) - #SC12 2654112

This mould drops shotgun slugs that look like overgrown air rifle pellets, and that's a good thing! These slugs are about .683" diameter and about .775" long and are easy to load because you put them in regular shotgun wads and fold crimp the shells (no silly roll crimp). The slugs as cast from wheelweights weigh about 520 grains. They shoot very well from my smoothbore 870 (tested at 7 and 22 yards)and I've read they will shoot better from a rifled barrel. For this mould you insert a steel plug (included with mould) into the base of the mould when pouring in the lead. When you open the mould, out pops beautiful slugs. Love this mould and highly recommend for anyone wanting heavier than average slugs (approx. 1 3/8 oz). I live in Alaska and want them for bear stoppers should the need arise.
