Let there be light
After having the old version in my pocket for 15+ years with only about 1/2 lumens, this was quite the pleasant surprise. It is attached to a Victornix Executive knife so I consider it my concealed weapon with a weapons light. I bought 2 of them because of the great price. They arrived less than a week after I ordered, great service. If you are looking for an effective small, BRIGHT, light this is an great option.

It's not an "electric candle" anymore
The original MAG Solitaire was an "electric candle" that was made to output a small 2 lumens of light for an extended period of time. It would run for over four hours with a fresh alkaline cell. The new L.E.D. model outputs more than 18 times more light but only for about half as long as the older models. [The new light also seems to work fine with Ni-MH or Ni-Cad cells which is not mentioned on the package.]
37 lumens is about the most output that be safely obtained by this size of light. Brighter lights, even name brands, have been known to rupture or blow their end caps off while operating at higher output levels.
This new MAGLITE is safe, bright, and affordable.
Pros: does what it is supposed to do.
Cons: Finish will rub off in a fews years if carried with keys,
