I bought these to use when I ride my motorcycle. The XL size fits me perfectly. They provide good protection without being too stiff. The hard knuckles are also nice in case I need to lay the smack down. In terms of using a pistol, these gloves are too thick in my opinion. There are better gloves for using with pistols. By better I mean thinner. These gloves are very well made, great materials and stitching. They ought to last if all I use them for is riding. 5 stars just like anything Magpul makes.
