Bought these 20 round mags for a couple reasons. First, when shooting bench rest, the 30 round mags hit the bench. The shorter 20 round mag allows for plenty of clearance from the bench or, when shooting prone. Second, 20 round mags allow me to NOT go thru my reloaded ammo so quick.

The Magpul PMAG 20-round magazine is one of the best-balanced AR magazines available. It keeps the rifle compact and lighter than a 30-round mag, making it much more comfortable for bench shooting, prone positions, hunting, storage, and carrying in vehicles or packs. At the same time, it still provides enough capacity to avoid constant reloads like with 10-round magazines.
Like other PMAGs, reliability is excellent — durable polymer construction, smooth feeding, anti-tilt follower, and proven performance under hard use. The 20-round size simply gives the rifle a cleaner handling profile without sacrificing practicality.

Needed a 20 round for a daniel defense sniper rifle as the 30 is to long with the bipod.

Great for sighting in
Being shorter than the 30 rounder, this one gets along better with some of the rests I’ve used at the range. It also lets your barrel cool a little more when shooting prairie dogs than the 30 rounder. Typical high Magpul quality.

20 round P-Mags
Love these due to work better for BR than 30 round mags due to length.Plus bullets last longer on range day. Use in my Mk12 SPR 18 inch.
