Crimsus's Review of Magpul MS4 Dual QD GEN 2 Multi-Mission Sling
First the good details:
The adjustment buckles are very secure. They don't move at all if you pull on them; this resistance is good to ensure nothing comes loose. The design of the QD system to use it as a single or dual point sling is very convenient. The sling material is very strong and rugged. I can see this sling resisting years of hard abuse with no damage.
Now the not-so-impressive details:
The quick adjust is flaky at best. It does not take much for the quick adjust to slip. In the field, this means you can have it suddenly let out the slack and cause the position of your gun to change at the wrong times. There's no easy fix for this issue. I called Magpul and they said the only option is to exchange it. I tried that. The replacement I got had the exact same issue. The only real work-around is to cinch the straps so there is no slack, which defeats the purpose of having the quick adjust. The QD connections are also not reliable. There are times when the QD connectors disconnect with minimal force. My gun fell and hit the ground muzzle-first twice when walking. Luckily I still had my hand on the receiver so it didn't hit the ground too hard. It might have been the connection points on the gun, so I tried two other rifles. The problem did not go away.
