Slim devise for A2 front sight

by JH, Verified Owner from UT, United States Written on October 28, 2023
Slim, streamlined to barrel, lightweight and seems like it will work well. Wanted the smallest mount and light possible for AR. The finish is poor and everywhere I look it has exposed aluminum/chips. If you like the finish of accessories on your rifle perfect, perhaps don’t expect that with this. For this price, I expected more. There is no tool or loctite included so you’ll need your own Allen key and thread locker. Pro tip: if your light is .70-.72 vs .75, some 1” shrink tube makes this fit perfectly.
Best Used for:
  • A2 front sight

Good idea with pretty solid execution

by Pepper, Verified Owner from IA, United States Written on August 10, 2022
So, the photos don't show much, but this mount is held on your rifle via the bayonet lug, sling swivel lug, and four set screws. For those looking for the answer to the posted question: yes, you must punch out the roll pin holding your sling swivel out. The mount is well machined, lightweight, easy to install, and serves a vital purpose while still remaining very streamlined. In fact, I'd choose this over a rail option. In my own use, the 0.75" option is fine, I would probably recommend the 1.0" variant to someone else, for ease of supplying a light to it. Worth noting, my example's flashlight band screw came with a little rust in it. YMMV
Pros:
  • Lightweight, cool profile, good design, not overly expensive
Cons:
  • Accomodates a rare breed of flashlight, came with some corrosion
Best Used for:
  • Budget AR-15 builds
