Most Helpful Negative Review Doesn't fit Colt M4 Carbine
Cheap Chinese junk, I bought this hand guard for my Colt m4 Carbine. It didn't fit and I scratched it trying to make it work so I voided OpticsPlanet.com return policy... LAME! so I sanded the backend of the handguard to make it work since OpticsPlanet.com doesn't have a good return policy.

Bad fit...

I received two of the same panels causing them not to fit together correctly. There should have been a male and female. They were also made too long causing them to be extremely tight and very difficult to install. I would not recommend these...

Great handguard

Fits well and has the matching color for my other FAB components. My only issue is it looks like they sent me two top pieces instead of a top and a bottom. Both sides have the notch for the gas tube and the indents on the inside where it would clamp together are only the female so it doesn't lock in like the stock version.

FAB handguards

Handguards are exactly as expected and at the right price. They have no problems except for the fact that the items completing the installation such as the handguard caps are not included, and there's no explanation of that in description. Makes for real frustration when one item arrives and then an additional order has to be made, and then another week for it's arrival.

Great company good product. I have other accessories from this company that work great. This hand guard didn't fit exact and I had to modify it slightly to get it to fit but that could also have been the upper I attached it to. It looks great and functions well.

FAB CAR-15 Handguards

Misleading picture on website.. website picture shows with no logo but when I received them they had a FAB logo. Wasted my money on them for my xm177 clone build...VERY DISSAPOINTED BECAUSE OF MISLEADING PICTURE.Over all they are nice even though they have a FAB logo on them though.

Cons:
  • Web picture has no logo...actual part has logo...misleading.
Best Used for:
  • Best used for not putting on your XM177 clone build.

4 Stars For MY Specific Build

Perfect for my FDE Colt 733 clone, but most other options are more practical (MagPul MOE). The Colt 733 uses this style of hand-guard which is why I got this. For all other builds I recommend getting a Quad-Rail or a hand-guard with MLOK slots.

As previously stated, logo and to large.

There is a logo on both covers towards the back. People’s opinion on that will vary but generally I don’t think people are happy about it. The covers are a little bit out of spec in length. I ended up having to sand a tiny bit off the back off so I could get them to fit onto the delta ring. As stated they are slimmer style. I got green ones for a retro look on an 11.5 inch PSA upper. The logo hurts in that department but once they got squeezed on they seem to be Oka.

Has FAB Defense Logo on it otherwise not bad. Image photo should be corrected.

I got excited when I saw it saw that they were 6 hole handguards I knew there was no way they were going to be anything like a real set of Colt handguards but having 6 holes I thought they would look great on my Colt clone and they would look great except they have the FAB Defense logo molded in on them. This not visible in the photo. I contemplated sending them back but I got them when they $25 otherwise would and just keep looking or buy some 7 hole ones which I find to be more authentic looking with the exception of the 7th hole.

Optics Planet does need to fix the photo that does not show the logo hopefully they will fix that before they get stuck with a bunch of returns.

The quality is pretty good I would really good for a $30 set of handguards, I would have been very happy if the logo was not visible.
