F16Grinch's Review of Meprolight MOR Military Multi Purpose Reflex Sights
Purchased this product after attempting an EO-Tech and Laser Max (w/red laser marker and IR laser) setup on my SBR. EO-Tech appeared to have a slightly larger sight window (not noticeable now that I have the Mepro-MOR) but reticle was too blurry for my preference. Laser Max had a nice setup but it took up more room overall/combined (not a game changer) and main concern was that I was skeptical about my personal ability to get everything zeroed. Decided to spend the extra money (about twice as much as EO-Tech/Laser Max setup) and get exactly what I wanted. Very pleased with the outcome.
This Mepro MOR B is a versatile and user friendly product. Not too many buttons to select from (only two switches). Love the bullseye reticle instead of just a dot. Personal preference but seems easier to acquire target with reticle and still of small size so as to not occlude the target. Multiple settings starting with unpowered which is perfect for low light or full dark environment AND it's always on without using the battery. Other settings go EXTREMELY bright so no doubt it would be easy to use in FULL sunlight. Have not zero'ed the sight with the weapon but I have observed that all three aiming systems, IR, laser pointer, and reticle are perfectly aligned out of the box at anything greater than about 20ft. Inside 20 feet there is about a two inch variance between the reticle and laser marker. Since they are advertised to all move together (only one adjustment system in azimuth and elevation) I am excited to have an easy time aligning all three to a single zero. One of the main reasons I purchased this product is because it has the laser marker and the IR laser. The IR is extremely visible under night vision out to (and far beyond) night vision affective ranges and it's small enough that it doesn't adversely affect the night vision device, yet highly highly visible. As with all visible lasers, the red laser marker is not very visible in full daylight but as soon as light is diminished its easily visible. IR and red laser marker are perfectly aligned. Size of sight window is more than adequate for both eyes open employment. Still haven't finalized my eye relief/position on the weapon but plenty of room for other add ons even on my SBR. I haven't found the exact position for the PTT button/cord but there's ample length to find something that will work and I believe there is an option to contact the manufacturer and get a different length umbilical (based on research done prior to purchase). Quick and easy install.
Overall this things is awesome. Very excited to use it.
