Not made to mount on MP5s.
On the top of an MP5 where you mount optics/rails there is what is called a "recoil stop block." This is a non removable ribbed piece of metal made to keep whatever claw mount you put on your MP5 from moving forwards or rearwards. This Matrix Real Steel optic is not compatible with that piece. (Apparently this is also prevalent on many airsoft toys as well from what I was able to find.)

When installed properly, red dot was backwards and aiming towards my rear drum sight. In other words, when properly aiming down my sights, the reflective lens of the optic is facing you and you can’t see the green/red dot. Now if you point the barrel at your face (don’t do that) you’ll notice that the red/green dot is perfectly visible from that side, But aiming towards your rear drum sight. I wish I could submit photographs.

Was very excited to add this optic on my MP5K clone. When I attached the optic, which is an idiot proof task due to the cutout made on one end of the optic for the receiver, I realized that they installed the red dot backwards. The reflective end was looking back at you. Unless you want a nice red/green dot pointing at your drum sights. Don’t order this product. Such a shame. Had such high hopes.
