Non functioning scw brace - Maxim Defense Industries SCW Brace

This brace wont open to it's full extension. I contacted Maxim and was told they all go through a function check. Then they sent a video showing how to bang it on a table 10-15 times to loosen it up after which you should be able to use human force to extend it. I did this 50-75 times, and while it opens as shown in the video and extends, it still won't work with human force. I was then told I can return the entire pdx and they would repair it. This was to be a home defense weapon that my wife could use as well. Quite a hassle for a brand new item. I should have gone with the Daniel Defense instead.
