Most Helpful Negative Review Not practical for tight secure weave
Weaving Tac Tie is easy until you get to the end. First of all you have to stretch the end of the tac tie a lot so that the returning end clears the slot. This can be quite hard if you've done a tight weave which is as it should be. Second of all and this is the worse when you want to undo the tac tie, the returning end is too flexible and it's really hard to make it go back the other way inside the slot unless the weave is not tight. But if your weave is not tight then your pouch is not tightly held. I was really disapointed because on the paper, this seemed the better idea for MOLLE attac...

Make sure you have extras

by Kimmer, from OH, United States Written on March 6, 2015
May you always have enough of these on hand. If you carry a pack, these things are mandatory accessories. If you find yourself with a full inside pack, you need these to add bags to the outside. Heavy duty, made to last and easy to use. They come in different lengths depending on the size of the bags you want to add to your pack. I carry both five and three inch ones. I carry extra ones just in case.
Pros:
  • easy to use.
  • Holds securely
  • Heavy duty, good quality
Cons:
  • Nothing I can think of
Best Used for:
  • EDC carry bag
  • bugout bag
  • Hiking,hunting,fishing,bird watching, bug out
  • back packs

Nice attachment straps

by Phila-Vet, from CA, United States Written on September 25, 2014
These small 3" straps are well made but take a little patience to use. I used them to attach Maxpedition's clip-on PDA phone holster to the strap on my Maxpedition Fatboy shoulder bag. It took two of the straps to securely fasten the holster. All of the above have excellent stitching & should tolerate a lot of rough treatment while camping for example. Well worth the money.

Work as advertised

by Jimmy, Verified Owner from AE, United States Written on August 15, 2014
Well, what can I say: it's Maxpedition!
Ground solid and made to last, the only possible complaint with these straps was that they are fiddly to attach to small pouches. But usually you da that once and then you're done!
Will order some more, solid product!!

Good stuff, no surprises

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on July 10, 2014
Well, anyone familiar with the molle idea will have no surprise here: Maxpedition delivers again, and the only gripe one could have is the hassle to put on the small straps the first time. Once done, they're sturdy as rock and nearly invisible. Not a bargain considering how many I need (LOL) but a purchase the definitely lasts.

Would recommend!

Pros: Strudy & versatile
Cons: Fiddly to put on the first time

So snug, so secure...So simple

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on July 9, 2012
Maxpedition really got this one right. There have been many types and styles of Molle-PALS-ALICE connectors over the years ...each with a long list of pros and cons. The Tac Tie solves most if not all of the cons. They are well made from super durable material and held together by even more durable stitching. The idea that a simple "tag" at the end of a "strap" could create such a strong and snug connection is genius. There is no wobble or clanking around, no snaps rusting out or filling with sand...just simplicity and quiet reliable security.
Pros: Tight fit, mates well, durable, and easy to use and re-use.

Great Ad Hoc strap solution

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on January 8, 2012
Consistent Maxpedition quality. Easy add to the Go-Bag. I use them to add my MUTT and drop pouch to my Maxpedition Collosus. Also, add pouches to Molley vest. Hi-Quality/Hard-Use construction.
Pros: Lt-wt, durable, handy, reusable, inexpensive
