I purchased this pack for summer concealed carry and could not be happier. The pack is built like a tank. I carry a Colt .45 and 3 clips with no stress on the bags stitching The material is very heavy duty and seems to be indestructible. The strap is very wide, padded, and very comfortable. the strap distributes the weight across your body making for a comfortable carry. The compartment for the pistol is in the rear and my lightweight commander just about fits without a holster. There is padding so you do not need to have the pistol in holster as the fit is very tight and the pistol does not move around. You could not carry a pistol any larger that the Colt Commander, it will not fit in the compartment. In the compartment the pistil is grip up making it very easy to extract. I now use the bag when working and carry a flashlight, knife, recorder and wallet, keys, small notepad and pen with no problem. The pack is smaller than it looks in the picture and that's about all you can fit. I was surprised how small the bag is, but it turned out to be perfect for my needs. The quality and workmanship is excellent and I would recommend it. If you need to carry any more that what I mentioned I would opt for a larger bag.

I am a avid hunter hiker and shooter and need more room for me this is to small, go to the larger size. Use the discount code you will save more. My phone wont even fit on the side. If you are looking for a single case for a gun and two clips then great. But for all practical purposes purchase the larger one. No room for even a water bottle.............

I purchased this for day trips. It is very well made and once it gets broken in it should be great. Brand new they are kind of stiff. The phone pocket will not accommodate my iPhone but a Leathermam fits OK.
As for dealing through Optics Planet everything was great. They took the time to help me with a coupon question, my order was filled and shipped quickly it ever arrived a day early, just in time for a trip.

Maxpedition FatBoy great pack will . lots of pockets for what ever I need and room to and many accessories . well constructed . I am planning to use for dog training . I would recommend this product to a friend .

Great pack, it's a little large for everyday carry if you want it for concealed carry, but great for all day if traveling or doing any outdoor activity. Rugged plenty of separate compartments and large main area.

I order the Khaki color but is more greenish than Khaki. That seems to be the way it just comes but strange since the photos online do not show it as being greenish. Overall quality seemed ok but the color was off.

Excellent choice for EDC. Superb design and quality of construction. Big enough for all the items needed for an immediate "issue", small enough to be carried easily. I do not think a better product for this purpose is available. Co;or options include any that you could possibly want. Could be the "man purse" that does not look like one and is much more functional.

This is my third Maxpedition Shoulder Bag. This is the smallest. I use all with mostly Maxpedition and the 5.11 concealed holsters. Good materials and construction and worth the cost. I expect that this will become my everyday carry item, because of size and weight.
Pros: Light, Compact, and combined with the single strap imake it convient for frequently picking it up.
Cons: Concealed weapon compartment not quite large enough for 1911, but plenty of room for compact handguns

This was a gift, and the recipient loved it. Very handy and comfortable to carry.
