Reviews & Ratings for Meade Dew Shield for Meade ETX-105PE Telescopes
— 6 reviews — Page 1
This is a decent quality dew shield, flared slightly at the end, so it will never block any portion of the incoming light. The plastic threads are very easy to cross, though--mine are already stripped after only a few dozen uses. It is still easy to thread it one snugly enough to stay in place for a full viewing session.
The inside surface could also be a bit less reflective and the price could certainly be a lot lower. If I had it to do again, I'd probably buy a flexible shield for our ETX.
Pros: Never loses its shape
Cons: Hard to thread on correctly, pricey

This dew shield is all that you need for this scope, unless with heavy dew, you might require a heater strip. Be gentle in threading it on to avoid cross-threading.
Pros: Inexpensive but effective shade.
Cons: Plastic threading demands care.

It works the way a dew shield is supposed to. It heats up nicely with a dew zapper. No complaints here.
Pros: Very durable, works great with a dew zapper
Cons: None.
