LS 8 Review
This scope has pretty good optics for night time viewing. The goto works well. It tracks stars and deep sky very well but always drifts when tracking any thing within our solar system. When used for daytime observing of landscape targets the secondary mirror becomes obvious as it slightly blurs the center of the view. When I performed a firmware up date the computer crashed and cost me $400 before Meade would even look at it plus another $400 in shipping costs. About four months to get it back. The memory card required is what they call a Mini SD. Very hard to find one. Had to send to China for that. And the Auto Align works but is not accurate. Over all I wish I had Bought from Celestron.
Pros:
- good optics
Cons:
- A lot
Would recommend: No

Great Optics, Not so great usability
This scope is has great optics. Meade meet expectation of everyone buying a coma free optics. But the tripod given is kinda poor in quality. It vibrates easily with just slight touch. Computer system integrated is no so user friendly. But it does include USB interface, which unfortunately not included in celestron telescope. Hope that they will improve the firmware in future.
Pros: Flat FOV
Cons: Included tripod no stable, Computer system slow
