Most Helpful Positive Review Heavy but worth the Effort
This scope is awesome. It has some minor software issues but it mnkaes up for it in Deep Space performance. The goto is dead on once you train the sensors and the only issue is the Moon and planets do not show up in the FOV Meade told me that they are working on it but dont hold your breath. This is a old problem that has not fixed since 2006 update and nothing since. The weight of this scope is no joke. The forks and drive base, OTA weigh 80 pounds. Astronomer's Dream

by Legacy Reviewer, from DE, United States Written on November 26, 2007
If you are an avid recreational or professional astronomer and are prepared to drop upwards of five grand on the ultimate telescope, this is the one to do it on. Absolutely phenomenal. The Optics Planet description called it "a Hubble for your backyard." No kidding! I had never spent anywhere near as much on a telescope, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat for this one. When it arrived and I first set it up and tried it out, I could barely contain my enthusiasm. My wife thought I had finally lost it. Highly recommended.
