I have a Meade 26mm CCD imaging reticle eyepiece of very good quality, and I hoped this 9mm reticle eyepiece would be of equal quality, but it is too difficult to focus with my 12" LX200. I bought it to assist in doing a drift alignment of the LX200, so it does not meet my expectations.
Pros: Cheap with adjustable crosshairs
Cons: Short focal length difficult to focus with LX200

Excellent eyepiece for alighnment use

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on March 3, 2008
This eyepiece is really best for alignment purposes. The image is dim and eye position is critical. This is expected due to the short focal length. However, it's advantages outweigh these factors. The double cross hair and ring are etched on glass and illuminated from the side with an externally powered 12V source. The position is adjustable with an X-Y screw arrangement working against a spring loaded plunger on the opposite diagonal. This leaves the center of the image open for exact alignment. The cross hair image has it's own focus adjustment. This is a far better scheme than the standard crossed wires mounted at the focal plane.
Pros: Two line crosshair with X-Y adjustment
Cons: Dim image due to short focal length
