Good for child
We have a big property and grandkids. I wanted something like this for them to wear so when they venture out of sight they have a safety whistle. The compass is just an plus for teaching them orientation at a rudimentary level
Pros:
- Cheap so no pain if lost

- Not very loud

Brassy little thing
Actually it is nice although the internal dial is cheaply made. But it feels nice and it tracks to the north quickly and accurately right out of the box. Time will tell if that remains the case after use. But given my first impression I will wear it while out hunting as a backup. My good compass froze and broke while hunting last November thus got me looking for a backup to be prepared in the future.

- Wear out trekking as a backup to a better compass.
