I was originally going to get a much higher end pair of binoculars, but heard good things about these and found a good price, so I decided to order them just to see how they performed. My expectations weren't very high at this price point, but I am pleasantly surprised. The image quality is very good and I have not seen anything better for even double the price. Sharpness is extremely good in the center and falls off at the edges, but the sweet spot is more than I would expect for this price. Distortion is well controlled but there is no rolling ball effect. The collimation appears to be perfect and they're among the most comfortable binoculars for extended viewing I've ever used except possibly for a pair of Leica Trinovids. I really only notice two optical flaws and neither are significant in my opinion. There is a very slight amount of chromatic aberration visible under extreme contrast situations, but not enough to interfere with my viewing. There is also a noticeable amount of flare visible under certain severe lighting conditions, but it is confined to the edges of the image circle and has not been bad enough to significantly interfere with viewing even under the worst possible lighting conditions.

The biggest surprise about these binoculars is the build quality. It's better than you will find from most binoculars costing 3-4 times as much. They're have a sturdy heft and an nice rubber coating. The hinge is smooth and perfectly damped. The focusing wheel is ...
