Most Helpful Positive Review Nice Night Sights!
This is the 2nd set of Meprolight Night Sights that I own. Good quality at a reasonable price. I needed a gunsmith to install properly, but most night sights should be installed by a good gunsmith since they have all the tools. Pros: Good quality and bright glow. Reasonably priced. Cons: Needs gunsm...

Most Helpful Negative Review Does NOT fit Ruger GP100
Although advertised as such this sight does NOT fit the Ruger GP100. When compared to the stock front sight, it obviously has a longer base based and either needs to be cut or filed to fit. When the price exceeds $100 for the set, that is UNACCEPTABLE. Returning it right away - please do not adve...

Slow and Dim

by Elmer, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on July 22, 2025
I was disappointed with the slowness of delivery. I was very disappointed with the quality of the front sight. The tritium dot was so dim it was useless for its intended purpose.
Pros:
  • The workmanship and fit were good.
Cons:
  • Way too dim to be used.
Best Used for:
  • Day time shooting
  • Day time shooting only
  • Day time shooting only.

Meprolight

by Matt, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on May 8, 2025
This tritium dot is way too small and about half of the illumination as other tritium sights I have owned. I have bought, sold, accessorized, trained, and have years if real world experience with firearms. Do not buy this Meprolight sight, it is a terrible option for the Ruger LCR. I have used other meprolight sights with good success, but this one is not as advertised. It might be that I received "the one" which sat on a shelf so long it expired on the radioactive half life of 10-12 years. For the LCR, the Novak sight is a great option considering what that type of weapon platform it is intended for. Even works good with the other caliber options (22, 9mm, 327mag). May have to adjust your sight pic a bit. But it's design is for a snub nose revolver, not a precision weapon. Also it illuminates very well at night.

Why are they called night sights?!?

by Coyote, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on May 4, 2024
These don’t do jack for you at nighttime. This fiber optic is only for shooting in the daylight. Looks like garbage in the dark. What I should’ve purchased was Trijicon HD night sights that actually glow in the dark. Not only did I waste money on this sight I wasted money on paying a gunsmith to install it. All around disappointed with the purchase.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Called night sights
Best Used for:
  • the trash can

Ruger front nite site

by Kevin S., from PA, United States Written on February 25, 2024
Ordered the meprolite nite site for my Ruger LCR .357 Mag Revolver. After watching a short video on YouTube, the original site came off fairly easy, and this new site went onto the revolver just as easily. The new site is secure, works well in the dark, and will no doubt, be a definite improvement over the original factory front site. I'm sure it will function as intended if the need arises, but, contrary to the anti-gun folks, that think that law abiding pro gun people have guns to hurt people, I sincerely hope that I never find myself in a situation to have to test out this new front site, ever! That said, I recommend this site to anyone looking to get an upgrade for their revolver.
Pros:
  • EASY INSTALL
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Upgrade to original platform

Meprolight Tru-dot night sight for Ruger LCR 38 spl.

by DaleZ, from OH, United States Written on February 6, 2023
The sight performs well and as advertised by the manufacturer. The holes were a little tricky to get lined up and the supplied drift pin did not fit. I was able reuse the original Ruger pin and I do recommend using a tad of glue on the post.
Pros:
  • Fits well and does the job
Cons:
  • The supplied drift pin needs to be more of ruger's original size and shape
Best Used for:
  • The intended purpose
