Rugged & Reliable

by Cal L, Gear Expert from IL, United States Written on April 11, 2018
Optics mounting options can be limited for those who use ARs with fixed carry handles. Sure things can be mounted on top of the carry handle, but that leads to a less than optimal chin-weld, instead of a good cheek-weld. The M-21 is a great way to go for those who find themselves in this conundrum. It features a simple goose-neck mounting system that places the sight low, where it should be. Your iron sights are still barely visible in the extreme bottom of the window. The mount is attached via the mounting hole that is in your carry handle. The attachment method is simplicity itself. You place the mount on and then thread the nut on the bottom. It is contoured to fit the bottom of your carry handle perfectly. I was dubious about the resiliency of the mount, but with only hand tight torque applied, I had no issues with loosening or zero shift.

Zeroing of the sight was surprisingly fast. The adjustments were easily made with a coin in the field. The clicks were both audible and tactile. The illumination of the reticle is accomplished by a combination of fiber-optics and tritium. There are no batteries, buttons, or switches to fuss with. I have had the good fortune to shoot this sight in an open field that butts up to some woods. While it was brighter in the open with the sun shining down upon it, at no point in the shadows of the woods did it ever become washed out or hard to pick up. Target acquisition was fast and reliable with all the lighting conditions available to me, e...

This sight is awesome! The red triangle is crisp and easy to see, however it's more of a amber color. The carry handle mount is very robust making the whole unit bomb proof. It completed the look on my quadrail disapatior!

Rugged Combat sight for carry handle AR's

by Mark, Verified Owner from WY, United States Written on December 11, 2023
Very well built combat sight. I was looking for a tough sight to go on my carry handle AR (A2 type) truck gun and this is it. It is non-magnified so its usable range is limited (point blank to 200 yards +/-) but is a nice improvement over iron sights and aging eyes. Clear point of aim that varies with the ambient light, and no batteries to die. I have had other reflex sights to compare this one to and I like this one. The zero was easy to set to co-witness with my irons. The zero adjustment is part of the mount which is probably a wise choice for a combat sight (less to go wrong internally), you can move it slightly with your hands even though solidly mounted but spring pressure pushes it back to where it was set. Not a huge issue and with use I will see how well it holds zero; again combat sight, not precision match sight. I will order the anti-flash kit to upgrade eventually, which should also provide more lens protection. It fits on my carry handle very tightly, not something that is easy to take off and on regularly but there is no reason to if its working. The top handguard can't be taken off with the sight there, if you have a rail or A1 rifle style (triangular, left and right sides mirror image type) this shouldn't be an issue.

Ha e seen several of these in police trade in offrs, those have stood the test time. Especially id assume spent majority of time bouncing around in cruiser trunks. Mine Arrived on Time , was just as listed , and works great. Mount attached to carry handle nicely, seems like a solid mount. Triangle nice and crisp

battle proven

I have not got to use it yet as waiting for parts for the retro gun build. This looks to be a quality sight, and should have fun when the project is done. Hard to review when not used it yet. The gun will look like an early IMF rifle when done.
