Terrific quality low mount for my sig romeo 5 - Midwest Industries Aimpoint T-1 QD Mount

I wanted a low-profile mount for my SIG Romeo 5 red dot sight on my Mini-14. The Midwest Industries Aimpoint T1-QD mount was a perfect fit, and installed easily in minutes without issues or the need for special tools.

The quality is terrific. Very solid mount that holds zero well. I like the push-button lever unlocking mechanism better on this one than competing mounts, it operates more easily with gloved hands than others I have tried. Not that I plan on running out of batteries or that it's easy to damage my red dot sight, but you never know when equipment might fail and you need to get it off in a hurry.

My lifetime experience is with shotguns and traditional rifles, not ARs. My Mini-14 handles great with this lower mount. I get faster target acquisition (and first shot!) than I do with an elevated mount on a more bulky AR rig. I suppose with training I could get used to lining up the sightline on an elevated mount, but the traditional rifle/shotgun cheek position is second nature to me, and this lower mount lines up the red dot just a hair faster.

Oh, and the price on Optics Planet during Cyber Monday week was phenomenal!
