Most Helpful Positive Review Terrific quality low mount for my SIG Romeo 5

I wanted a low-profile mount for my SIG Romeo 5 red dot sight on my Mini-14. The Midwest Industries Aimpoint T1-QD mount was a perfect fit, and installed easily in minutes without issues or the need for special tools. The quality is terrific. Very solid mount that holds zero well. I like the push-button lever unlocking mechanism better on this one than competing mounts, it operates more easily with gloved hands than others I have tried. Not that I plan on running out of batteries or that it's easy to damage my red dot sight, but you never know when equipment might fail and you need to get it ...

Why didn't I buy this sooner?

I have tried a handful of budget mounts. Each offering a light weight, rigid, and cost efficient aimpoint micro mounting solution. However, none of them have performed well - whether if be excess tolerance between riser plates, over bored mounting screw holes, or a poor lower-1/3 co-witness. This mount has a solid TOOL FREE lockup, comes with properly sized mounting screw holes, and is reasonably priced. You will not be disappointed with this mount. If you are dead set on a taller mount, then opt for the absolute co-witness and pair with a Yankee Hill Machine 0.5" Riser (1.4+0.5=1.9"). The cam-lever will ensure that you still have access to your backup iron sights and you'll have space left over for a magnifier - without having to pay Unity prices.

Very good fit and finish. Precision machined and fits my Holosun optic with T2 footprint perfectly. Very pleased with this optic mount.

The Midwest industries QD mount for aimpount t-1 compatible optics is a solid product. I have purchased 2 of these mounts one of which I use on a hunting rifle. Always returns to zero. 100 percent recommend to anyone looking for a solid QD red dot mount.

The quality you expect from Midwest industries

Very robust and well made. I mounted it to a Romeo 5 xdr and found that it's a little to high for 1/3 cowitness. I don't mind this. The housing for the xdr is a little taller than a Romeo 5 so if you want 1/3 lower cowitness with the xdr I think the absolute cowitness hight would work. Just a heads up for anyone interested.

Best Loe QD Mount

The Midwest Low QD Mount is the best low QD mount I’ve tried yet, and I've used dozens in and out of the Army. It’s VERY well made, and I love the way you can adjust the fit to the rail without tools which makes for a perfect and secure fit when locked in. The lever locking mechanism works well without being overly hard to release the lever.

Another superb Midwest Industries product

Not much to say as it is expected that any product from Midwest Industries is going to be high quality. And this Aimpoint T-1 QD Mount is no exception. It works great with my Holosun HS503 RedDot optic as the Holosun OEM mounts are not very durable.

Rock solid. Fit and finish are top-notch. QD lockup is tight with almost perfect return to zero. No complaints.

My only complaint is I wish it was the same height as the stock mount. It's a little higher and that was my only disappointment.
