Read this review before purchasing - Midwest Industries AK 47/74 Generation 2 Picatinny Rail Quick Detach Modular AK Scope Mount

I have a Riley defense AK and I purchased the other midwest AK scope mount. Upon attaching, the rail sat off to the side of the barrel. This is a common problem with different brand ak's and various side mounts. I exchanged it for this model because after reading some forums it said it was adjustable side to side. Which i believed because in the picture it shows 2 screws on top which looks like the upper section rides in a groove to adjust, plus this mount is an extra 40 dollars over the other. Once I looked at this new mount after it arrived I saw that you actually CANNOT adjust the side to side placement. The 2 smaller screws on the top just take off the upper portion of the rail. Perhaps to swap it out? I don't know why you would do that though. Its already a quick detach mount. Better to just have a whole separate full mount to swap. I threw the upper portion in the vice and used the dremel to machine out the hole slightly wider. This allowed me to adjust the side to side of the upper mount. I only needed to take off 1-2mm. Threat locked it in and put 100 rounds through the ak so far and it hasnt shifted. Solid mount so far though. It holds zero on my red dot even after taking the mount off and putting it back on.

TLDR; If youre looking for a side to side adjustable mount, this ISNT it unless you modify it.
