There's literally no reason to buy this - Midwest Industries AK Railed Gas Tube - AK

Jefffahfah's Review of Midwest Industries AK Railed Gas Tube - AK
The first thing I noticed about the MI gas tube rail, versus the Ultimak, is that there is significantly less picatinny slots. The mounting mechanism itself is fine, although personally I find the barrel band mount of the Ultimak to just be better. The majority of the pressure on the MI rail is situated against the screw down end, not the set screws that rest on the barrel, that also level it out. The major turn-off for me (aside from the shorter rail space) is that there is no continuity to the hardguard like the Ultimak offers. The Ultimak looks and feels like it was always there. The MI rail leaves a big gap between the gas tube rail and the handguard. With these two shortcomings in mind, there's really no reason to buy this over an Ultimak, assuming the AK you own is among the overwhelming bunch that will accept an Ultimak.
Pros:
good machining
Solid fitment
Readily available everywhere
Cons:
Less rail space than Ultimak
No upper handguard on sides like Ultimak
Not cheaper than the competition
Would Recommend:
No
