NJ2A's Review of Midwest Industries AK Railed Scope Mount 6.75in. Rail
I had a completely different experience than the negative review posted on 01/19/2015. If his is “tilted downwards” as he says he either he received a defective mount (which I doubt) or his rifle’s rail is canted.
One other thing to watch out for is after setting the tension nut initially take it off & on a few time to make sure you knock off any excess finish (on rifle mount itself) otherwise it will get wobbly as the finish wears away the mount. Maybe that’s what's happened and the negative reviewer didn't even realized it, don't know? After reading the negative review I took my rifle and locked it in position so that the rifle’s mount was level by using a Craftsman Torpedo level. Then I attached my (second) recently purchased MI Scope mount and placed the Torpedo level on top and the mount was perfectly level. The ultimate test was last week when I took the rifle to the range and zeroed it in. After the scope was sighted-in I removed and reattached the mount several times to make sure it held zero. Having other Midwest Industries Products I had a pretty good idea this was going to be a good one. This mount is very well constructed and does what is suppose to do but don’t take my word for it go over to youtube and search for “Midwest Industries AKSM 1913 Rail Mount for the AK Rifle”, you want the Review done by Military Arms Channel. This is great upgrade and OpticsPlanet Customer Service is Top Notch.
