I got this forend to go over an American Tactical gas piston upper. I knew it would not be a drop in application, but being a gunsmith, as long as I have extra I can always mill away what's not needed or in the way! The pic rail of the gas piston ended up about 1/16" above the forend pic rail. Not quite flush. The internal area of the forend had to be clearenced to allow the gas block to free float with the barrel. The gas piston drive rod fits nicely in the gas tube area. works great
I installed this myself on a colt le6920. It has a very tight fit and feels durable. I’ve taken it out one time so far and had no issues with it. With the colt, the handguard cap did not snip off with tin scissors and pliers like the Midwest video showed. I had to carefully cut it off enough so the barrel was not touching.

Grade upgrade from Magpul MOE or other plastic handguards.
Aesthetics - I think the rail looks really good, especially with the old-school AR sight tower.
Functionality - It's an MLOK rail. It works. It feels solid. It provides a slim forward handguard. It extends beyond the front sight post and provides additional rail space for whatever you need. It is a big upgrade from plastic handguards. It feels as solid as any rail I had in the military.
Ease of Install - Cut off delta ring with a Dremel, drive out pin for sling swivel. That's it. It drops in with standard GI barrel nut.
Cost - Cost is high, like everything, but the quality is high as well.

a2 fsb rail system
I havent build this rail out yet since im still waiting on parts but it feels like great quality and excited for this to be complete. Would recommend this product to anyone looking for this kind of build for a reasonable price.
