almost impossible to open
I have always been a fan of Midwest Industries high quality products until now. This brace is almost impossible to open once in the locked position (unfolded or straight). I have to push with a extreme amount of force to get it to slide up enough (to unlatch) to push into the folded position. I ha...

Good option for a stock less brace
Looks great, stiff but I put some wd40 on the hinge and figured it out. You have lift the middle of the brace straight up while holding the gun or connecting part down and eventually it will loosen up. Not good for recoiling guns because it’s so hard. Shot it with my 556 monolith pistol and an a suppressor and it hurt my shoulder. Best for use on a 9mm not a rifle in my opinion.
Pros:
- Minimalist, looks, very hard like a stock.
Cons:
- End is too hard and thin for recoiling guns
Best Used for:
- 9mm sub guns

Excellent Folding brace
This is perfect for my application. Length seems a bit shorter than I'd like, but it is longer than a pistol buffer tube. Instructions were great if you want to change the left or right side folding. Also included is a strap for your arm. You also get 3 stickers in the box. The 5 QD slots are excellent and anti rotation. It adds a small amount of weight but shouldn't be a problem. One issue is it is stiff the unlock from the extended position. It's easier from the folded though. This should lossen a little with use and how you grip the strut-arm.
Pros:
- Quality
- extras
- Lock up is solid
- Length is great
Cons:
- Stiff to unlock from Extended postion
Best Used for:
- small pistols
