A great way to mount an optic on a 10/22 takedown. - Midwest Industries M-Lok Hand Guard Compatible with Ruger 10/22 TakeDown

I had been frustrated by the way my Ruger 10/22 takedown had a wobble between the receiver and the barrel. Because the optical mounting options all have the optic on the receiver, the accuracy was not optimal. With the Midwest Industries handguard I now have the optic mounted directly on the barrel, making it much more accurate to shoot. As mentioned in other reviews, you must remove the rear sight to install it. One minor complaint however, when installed, it is difficult to use the tightening ring to firm up the takedown assembly. Normally you have full access to the ring but with this product you only have a small portion of the ring accessible to work with.
