A great way to mount an optic on a 10/22 takedown.
I had been frustrated by the way my Ruger 10/22 takedown had a wobble between the receiver and the barrel. Because the optical mounting options all have the optic on the receiver, the accuracy was not optimal. With the Midwest Industries handguard I now have the optic mounted directly on the barrel, making it much more accurate to shoot. As mentioned in other reviews, you must remove the rear sight to install it. One minor complaint however, when installed, it is difficult to use the tightening ring to firm up the takedown assembly. Allows my 1022 takedown to match PC9
This hand guard used with Midwest Chassis allows1022 takedown to reconfigured to match my model of Ruger PC9. M-Lok accommodates variety of accessories, well made without being heavy. Easy to install, looks great.

The hardest part of the install was taking off the existing barrel rear sight. Hand guard went on simply and quickly. Allowed for the placement of front mlok hand grip. Little concerned about the cost but well worth it.

Solidly Built
Best modification I did for my Charger 22 Takedown besides the trigger. Makes it look nicer and allows for accessories. Also, much better for bipod than the OEM setup.

Almost 5-Star
Midwest Industries is renowned for quality connecting itself positively to the mantra that, “you get what you pay for…”. My only complaint is that because of the low-profile, monolithic design of this forend, the supplied MLoc hardware does not have barrel clearance in the aft-most slots- even with a standard barrel. I wanted my Holosun on the forend as I’ve read about point of impact changes when mounted on the receiver of takedown models. Fortunately, I still had ample sight picture and good target acquisition moving it farther forward than initially desired. I would recommend this product to others with this single footnote…

Handguard moves
Because of the single point mounting bolt on the bottom block of the 10/22 barrel. I noticed right away the hand rail shifts left and right with ease. I love the rail but would like to know if anyone has a solution. Pain in the butt when the rail hits the barrel. Thought?

Ruger Charger handguard
Well built. Plenty of sling attachment points. Just wish the lower portion was larger so you can fit most fore grips. Really nice packaging and super fast shipping. Went this route due to the metal construction. Didn’t want to put plastic on my baby.
