Just my thoughts. - Midwest Industries Ak Side Rail Scope Mount 30mm For Ak-47

Want to leave a quick review for people that might want more information on this that I didn't find on here. It works great on AKM and AK74 rails. The mount ring IS centered on the rifle, because I shoot left handed I was worried that it's off, but it is in the center. Rings are very low and you can NOT see the iron sights below the mount. Because this mount is low you will see the front sight in your optic, I have a 1-6x and the sight post is visible in the bottom 1/3 of my reticle from 1-4.5x. This does not bother me that much. The retention for the side mount is very easy to adjust and durable although it requires two hands to remove the mount because there is a safety retaining catch. Felt fairly heavy in my hand, it's very solid steel construction, the screws for the ring are extra long with a lot of thread, 4x screws for each of the rings. I would also look into the MI ak rail that's a picatinny flat top for a wider range of mounting options.
