I love my MI Gen1 30mm RDS sidemounted scope rail that I use with my Aimpoint ML2 and decided to try the Gen1 30mm scope rail also. Taking it on and off always held zero and is rock solid.
I like the simplicity of the Gen1 rails and most importantly, how low they can mount a scope. Cheekweld is hard enough with the AK folding stocks and you dont want a scope mounted way high.
The MI Gen 1 30mm scope rail fits the bill BUT, know that your choice of scoped will be VERY LIMITED. My Zeiss 1X4, Swarovski 1X6, and Kahles 1X6 will not fit since the eyepiece, especially the magnification ring, is too big and will not fit!
I know for a fact that Nightforce 1X4 and 1X8 scopes will work since they are particularly small for an LPVO. The magnification ring is 1.60" and it's length is also perfect. You will need a scope no bigger than the 1.60" at the magnification ring and no longer than 10" total.
Cons:
- Very limited scope options will work.

This mount doesn’t do anything well. It sits so low that the zoom adjustment dial hits the top cover. Also the eye relief is very poor because the scope can not be moved forward enough to achieve proper spacing. I am using a vortex crossfire2 1-4x scope and have to start over with a different mount and rings. Do yourself a favor and get the mount without the rings. Midwest really screwed this one up.

I could not get any clearance information so now I'm posting it for you.mounted a 1x6x24 scope fit perfectly. You might not have room for 32mm optic in front however my 32mm eyepiece in back is ok.The Midwest clamping system is the best I've seen.locks up perfectly after adjustment.I give it 5 stars. This mount is the lowest mount you are going to find. That also means the rear sight is occupying the lower 1/4 " of the front lense of your scope.I removed the rear sight and ordered a ghost ring.My cheek weld was good with factory stock but ordered adjustable stock for eye relief.
Pros:
- Low to bore, lightweight and strong
Cons:
- So low to bore sight is in scope but I wouldn't change it

Pretty disappointed in the product! The mount is well built but it sits so close to the dust cover than not one of my vortex Scopes will work because they hit the dust cover. Not even the smallest of my Scopes will work, the Vortex Crossfire II 1-4x24. It's either a bad design or should be started in the description. Now I have to order the rail mount on because this one is worthless.

After tons of research and really not finding a definitive answer I decided to give this optic mount a try. The optic mount got good reviews but I couldn't find out for sure if this would fit my c39v2 tactical. It worked perfectly. True secure fit and looks really sharp. I get compliments all of the time on this mount. Highly recommend it.

Love midwest products and this mount is the all time best for ak period. It dont get any better it rides close to the topcover though so make sure you dont have a fat scope. The qd has no play with soild lockup. The top rings mount up soild no question they will stay. Overall a nice high quality ak mount i really like.
Best Used for:
- Tactical hunting or target

You can feel the quality right out of the package. Midwest Industries has definitely got the locking system on lock down. The mount locks in very tight and with the little safety latch it's not coming loose until you intend for it to. I have three AKs and I have these mounts on each. I even have two for one of them. The mounts all sit nice and low and center up perfectly on my Arsenal and Vepr rifles. The cheaper mounts are junk and the more expensive mount while very nice is way too expensive and can't possibly be any better.

This scope mount looks like the perfect solution....but it won't fit most tactical scopes to an AK as advertised.
I tried to use it on an Arsenal with a Burris 1-4X tactical scope. The tube of the scope hits the rear sight because the integral rings are so low. This combination does not work!
I was going to return it but used it to fit a short red dot, which works fine.
Note, I bought the Midwest railed side mount to solve the problem, but needed to buy rings to put on the rail.
Therefore you can see I like Midwest products, but am unhappy that the mount with the integral rings will not allow a tactical scope to fit to an AK.

Works perfectly without adjustment in my Century Arms RAS47 with adjustable stock. It holds my 1-4x 30mm Vortex scope and has a clearance of just a couple of millimeters above the dust cover. Obviously it lacks the versatility of a continuous rail, but I wasn't looking to ever mount a red dot/holo sight on this weapon.Hope this helps someone looking for a side rail/scope solution.
