Excellent for my Ruger PC Charger
Fits like a glove, like a really tight fitting yet properly sized glove. The kind of glove one might slog through typing 200 characters to review even though a quick and succinct review would be adequate. Cannot stress however how very unglovelike the item is, do not attempt to put your hand inside ...

Well made, a bit too heavy.
I purchased two of these for my Sig MPX and MCX Rattler. Both exhibit the same amount of wobble in the locked open position. The factory braces both locked up very tight but the plastic arms bend easy. These Midwest devices wobble when locked up on the Sig 1913 rails. I will likely return as there i...

Very hard to fold
Everything about this folder is great except for the unlocking of the folder mechanism. With your thumb at the end tip of the upper rail, you will have to defeat what it seems like a car suspension spring inside the adapter in order to release it. Also, the description "Solid positive lock up in both positions" is incorrect - it does not lock in the folded position, it is under a spring tension that keeps it tightly to the side.
Pros:
- well made
Cons:
- None
Would recommend: No
my fault for not reading the description
From scrolling through the pics I assumed it was the whole brace but it’s just a side folder for the gearhead works tailhook. Overall the folder feels great but the pics were a little deceiving so now I have to spend another 100+ to use it as intended
Pros:
- good quality
- metal
Cons:
- Specific fit
- A little stiff
- not a brace
Would recommend: Yes
Solid Side Folder
This thing is legit. It can be quickly snapped into the fully extended position with a satisfying “thunk”. Once extended, there is no wiggle room. Tight tolerances are used. I’m impressed. Worth picking up.

Midwest Industries is quality
Had a tail hook laying around and found this folding brace for it to match up with a 10/22 charger. It’s perfect! It looks good, the folding function works great. It holds the brace in the folded position and then locks into place when needed. Super happy with it. Of the few guns I’ve tinkered with I’ve found Midwest Industries makes quality parts for a good price. I’ll keep buying their stuff.
Pros:
- value
- Quality
- Looks
Cons:
- Possibly heavy for some applications
Would recommend: Yes
Midwest Sidefolder

Cons:
- None

Midwest industries Brace

Midwest Industries Side Folder Pistol Brace
seems like a solid brace that should have no problem under any recoil. Currently using with a mod1c tailor and it fits like it meant for it. It would be nice if it had the anti-rotate groove for the tail hook though. There is a very slight wobble in the folding hinge in the open position which as a little disappointing. On the folded position the detent holds it closed but it can sway a little bit. I wouldn’t say it’s heavy but it is a little heavier than I expected for an aluminum body.
Pros:
- length
- solid mounting
Cons:
- wiggle
Best Used for:
- mod tail hooks
Would recommend: Yes
Midwest Industries Folding Beam for Gear Head Works Tailhook Pistol Brace (not included)
This is an extremely well-engineered and strong piece. Midwest Industries refers to it as a "BEAM", and that's an accurate description. It is designed specifically for the Gear Head Works Tailhook brace, and the fit is exact.

Very Robust and Sturdy
For the PC Charger: My options were the FS1913 or this Midwest Industries product. After researching the potential negatives of the FS1913 inadvertently folding under recoil, I opted for the more sturdy MI folder. I have to say, I made the right choice. The folding mechanism on the MI folder is extremely well built and doesn't even budge under recoil. And it easily folds with a simple lift upward. Well done, Midwest Industries, again!
Pros:
- Very strong and sturdy.
Cons:
- Slightly heavier than the FS1913.
Would recommend: Yes
