Jake's Review of Midwest Industries MI Ultra Lightweight One Piece Free Float Handguard

I love this handguard. It is light and surprising comfortable even without mlok covers. I do have have 3 problems with this product though.

1. The screws strip too easily. It says right in the directions to not take the handguard on and off due to this issue, but unfortunately for me it was too late. Simple solution is to put it on once and be done.
2. The ears on it do not align with all upper receivers. For example I am using a 2A Armament Palouse-Lite AR-15 Forged Upper Receiver and because of this the handguard tilts to the left. This is obviously a problem as I want to use a bipod. The solution to this is buy a milspec upper receiver, but just be aware this MAY NOT FIT YOUR UPPER!
3. Price, it's a little pricey, but for what it offers it's not too absurd. Just a little much in my opinion.

TDLR the handguard is a good lightweight option and is in my opinion the go to for a lightweight build. It is comfortable and light, but also beware when installing it because the screws strip out fast and the ears may not allign with your upper making the handguard having a tilting effect. It's a little pricy, but buy once cry once. Good handguard.
