I would say this is the perfect Handguard for a 16.5” Tavor SAR. It gives just enough clearance for the muzzle brake to clear. I plan on using this rifle with a silencer so it would be easier to attached the silencer when you see the muzzle brake. The extra long versions are better suited for the 18” version SAR. If you install the extra long Handguard on the 16.5 you’ll have to look into the Handguard to find the muzzle, something I would hate to do if I were working with a silencer. Also, MI has a keymod version of the same Handguard, but I definitely like the look of Mlok better. The Handguard fits like a glove. No wiggle whatsoever and very sturdy. I’ve also installed a surefire light inside the Handguard with a pressure switch through one of the Mlok holes on the side. I would say the Mlok is more compatible with this pressure switch than the keymod.
