Took this out on 3 different outings. While the idea is great , throw it on your pack and go , its discrimination is horrid. This will be good for a small over night camps etc, but a place with alot of iron, in a concentrated area, nails etc, its going to frustrate you. We hike alot of remote areas , many times we wish we had a detector, this was the reason for the purchase. We will continue to use it for that reason, but as far as ghost town or old homestead hunting, we will be taking a different detector. Previous experience with Whites MXT and the older Bounty Hunter Discovery models, the Bounty Hunters smash this. It is pretty flimsy as other places have left reviews , but with care, shouldnt be a problem.
