Most Helpful Negative Review This product is out of spec
I bought this to go on a 6.5 Creedmoor build, which is on an M5 lower. The product specs aren't clear on what it fits. I've come to find out it does not fit an M5/DPMS lower. I actually took this to a local gun shop, who has an AR10 and an SR25, this magazine also does not fit those types of ARs. It's a mystery as to what these fit, but they don't fit what they are manufactured for.

Wont fit in psa lower

by Jack, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on April 15, 2025
Love the color and the mag grippy thingies on the sides of the mag. , very aggressive texture. Fits in my dpms sass but will not lock into my psa lower, the middle ridge hits on the bottom of the magwell before the release can catch the mag, so bummer , can only use it for certain builds.other wise great feeling mag.
Pros:
  • Grip texture
Cons:
  • Wont fit psa lower

AR BUILDER

by TONY M, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on December 12, 2024
THESE MAGAZINES ARE THE BIGGEST PIECE OF JUNK. THEIR STAMPING REQUIRED CUSTOM MODIFICATION USING A DREMEL TOOL TO EVEN TO GET IT TO WORK IN AN AERO HOUSING. WASTE OF MONEY. NOT EVEN WORTH RETURNING THEM TO OPTICS PLANETS.
Pros:
  • Cheap
Cons:
  • non functional
Best Used for:
  • display

BAD PRODUCTION LOT!

by TONY M, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on September 12, 2024
I bought 2 of these mags in brown so i could easily identify my 22-250 ammo. Well as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for". The lock up indent is not in the correct spot on the mag! its off a slight amount so they dont lock up in the rifle. I tried on other ARs and the same problem exist. Rather than send back, I got out my exacto knife and my dremmel tool and got to work. I removed my lockup bar from my AR and saw how far off the indent was on the mags. With some careful work I was able to save the 2 mags from a return. What a pain in the a** it was. OPTICS PLANNET NEEDS TO PULL THE MAGS AND RETURN THEM TO MANUFACTURER.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • INCORRETCT LOCATION LOCKUP

MFT review

by Nate, from AZ, United States Written on August 23, 2024
I was some what hesitant to buy these mags giving some of the bad reviews. but I tried these mags in my LR-308 pattern aero precision rifle and they ran perfectly. I'm guessing the people that are having problems are using AR-10 pattern rifle ?

by King n8, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on March 13, 2024
I got suckered into the good price a figured I’d try this. I actually like this companies stocks and for grips. However this is the worst mag I’ve tried. It doesn’t eject you have to hold the button and pull. Just stick with pmags they work every time.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Poorly made

  • Garbage can

Magazines for the ar10

by Rick, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on November 26, 2023
After receiving them I tried them in my rifle and none of them are right. They don't keep my bolt open after shooting the last shell. Wen comparing to my other mags I noticed the catch lip on the back side is way to small to operate the open catch properly.

Doesn't work!

by Sgtmac168, from CO, United States Written on June 12, 2023
The magazine has a lip on the back side that prevents it from locking into the magazine well. It looks nice but it not usable in an AR10. I guess it could be ground off and made to fit but would probably weaken the design...
Pros:
  • Cheap
  • None
Cons:
  • doesn't fit
  • don't fit
