By now I have bought countless MTM products including the ammo cans with carrier to the SPUD7 dry boxes that double as seats. MTM makes great products at a competitive price in addition. The best thing I like about the RBMC is the amount of organization potential it offers. The upper portion features numerous separated compartments to store small loose parts and accessories. Inside in this area are two removable trays that reveal more compartments.

This is coupled with the lower portion allowing you to fit longer or bulkier items below. I was able to fit a full-sized AR castle nut wrench and similar length items in here. It even comes with two forks that bolt into the lower portion to allow for easier cleaning of your long gun. I have two RBMCs, one for AR-15 specific and the other for any other long gun accessories and parts. The container empty by itself is lightweight and easy to transport.

Keep in mind the plastic is softer, lighter in density and not as tough as a Pelican case, but also consider the price is a fraction of the cost. MTM products are well worth it and offer a huge value.

I bought this Range Box to use as a gunsmithing case and it is fantastic. It's sturdy has plenty of room for all the bulky items I use for gunsmithing and it even fits my 22 inch torque wrench.
I think I'll probably purchase another to actually use for a range box.

I have used this at the range and at home with great appreciation each time. It works fine for bolt guns and my AR10.
For all my ARs I just omit the aft gun support and break open the upper and lower, then nesting the butt stock in the appropriate void intended for the butt stock support.
I may have unintentionally been responsible for more of these showing up at our range because it seemed to attract shooters as well as observers during my maintenance tasks. Needless to say I wish I had this TOOL long ago.
Initially it looked a little over kill but as I set it up for one specific rifle then proved it at the range it began to evolve into the TOOL it was designed for. Thoughtfully adding the required items for other long guns, patches, brushes, jags, rods and bolt action brushes/Q tips/pipe cleaners it began to look like a Maintenance System.
I may need one for my shotguns next, a red or yellow one perhaps, complements to "vinyl" spray paint.

Received from OP cracked on upper right hand corner. Complained to OP and received an RMA and replaced with a new one. It took 3 weeks altogether, but thanks to OP, the process was fairly simple. Onto the box itself: PROS: compact. lots of sections for small items such as brushes, etc. CONS: not deep enough to stand up some cleaners. OVERALL: Pretty good. Fits in my car with ease, and seems pretty rugged. Grade: B

This thing beats the heck out of soft cases. All my equipment, ammo, and tools are easily accessed. No more digging around the botton of a soft bag. The rifle rest is a real bonus.
I just wish the sides of the bottom portion were a little more stiff.
I have about 30# of equipment in this thing and so far so good but I don't have a lot of faith in the bottom clasps that hold this thing together.
Pros: lots of room ,,, really like the gun holding setup
Cons: Lower portion needs more side support and better locks

Overall this is a good box to take cleaning supplies and extra equipment to the range. There isn't any do all box but this one comes pretty close.
The latches are very secure but you want to check them before packing up to leave. I had a couple of close calls dumping my spotting scope and Crony.
Pros: Lots of convienent storage with deviders in the top. The bottom has room for a cronograph and spotting scope, Extra cleaning patches and cleaners can be stored there too.
Cons: A little flimsy on uneven surfaces. The rifle holding brackets take up alot of room so I leave them home and they are a pain to install.

A most excellent range/cleaning box. holds what I need+. I highly recomend.

It does what it says it does, a portable field box or a storage box at home.
but NOT the ultimate home cleaning set...

A better constructed product than other brands, a solid product.

I love this box. I can neatly organize all of my cleaning supplies, tools and hardware in one place. I would highly recommend this to anyone that likes to keep their guns clean on a regular basis, it makes cleaning a breeze and packs up nicely.
