I ordered this ring mount because in the sales photo it appears that the "open see thru" base is clear all the way down to the base mount. The photo shows a large square opening; however the actual product received has a small round opening centered high above the rail continuing to make it impossible to use open sights. I like having that capability due to an eye condition that causes fluctuations in my vision... meaning some days I see better with open sights and on others I need a scope. Not to mention having the ability to still use open sights in a situation of quick response when there is not time to find a moving target in the scope. Anyway, the photo does not represent the true design of this product. Order with caution.

would consider again for another rifle build when i need a temporary mount to use with my spare scope. i used this to place on my rifle while i got the permanent set up. It works well enough to have fun at the range.

I needed a set of stout see-through rings to top my Marlin 45-70 hunting rifle. I purchased these and paired them with a Vortex Scout Scope, and I believe I've hit on just the set-up I was looking for. I wanted to be able to continue to use the "peep" sight that came on the gun's rail in addition to my scope, and these rings will accomplish that. They are sturdy and well built, and can be removed from the rail easily with the two thumb screws. I haven't had a chance to get to the range yet to actually put them to the test, but from the looks and feel of them, they'll do the job I need done. As far as Optics Planet goes, I highly recommend them. I've purchased several items from them over the last year or so, and I've been well pleased every time. Packages always arrive early or on-time, and are always securely packages with no damages. I'm a loyal customer until and unless they give me a reason not to be.

these mounts are nice . u can use as see through and with the 1" adaptor u can use on compact scopes regular 1" scopes and 30mm scopes

These are great can be off set , see thru , heavy duty . Can be used with all kinds of things . It even comes with 1" adaptor rings so it will work for 30mm stuff. G
