First round fired... battery flew out of the scope, stripped housing. - NcSTAR GEN3 USS 3-9X40mm Mil-Dot Rifle Scope w/ Red Micro Dot Optic

I bought this scope about a year ago but due to medical issues I was unable to fire the weapon until yesterday.
I went to a range with a family member to show him my "Finally finished AR" and on the first round downrange the cap securing the AA battery flew almost as far as the ejected shell.
Of course there is no way to get this exchanged or repaired by Optics Planet due to the time I've had it but I'm very disappointed in the lack of build quality (Not the fault of Optics Planet)
