Most Helpful Positive Review railmout for 1911s
They say that it will fit all 1911 but it does not fit the Rock Island 1911 45 Cal. No problem with opticsplanet on returning the product the quality of the product looked very good. Still trying to find a rail mount for my Rock Island 1911
Most Helpful Negative Review Useless, poorly designed
Don't be fooled by the quality of the material, the flaw is by design. I installed the rail on my springfield 1911 (PX9104LP), fixed a TLR-2 on it, took it the the range, and it went limp after firing the first shot. Huge disappointment, don't waste your money. I even tried tightening the screws on ...

Doesn't fit straight dust cover Beretta 92 frame

by ChrisE, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on May 7, 2024
If you have a Beretta 92/96 frame with a straight dust cover, this rail adapter will not fit without major modification to it. If your frame has a sloped dust cover (the part of the frame forward of the trigger guard) I'd imagine it should work just fine as it was most definitely designed with that frame in mind. The item's description should be updated to note which frame version this thing is intended for.
Pros:
  • It's not overly expensive
Cons:
  • Won't fit 92/96 frame with a straight dust cover
Best Used for:
  • 92/96 frames with a sloped dust cover

Super Rail Adapter

by Charles Blackburn, from AL, United States Written on March 4, 2021
Machined of Metal looks great works super. Two screws, one left, one right and an additional center front to ensure tightness to the trigger guard. Open the two sides to open and remove sides, loosen the front set screw. reattach sides square the rail, tighten sides and snug to your frame with the front set screw and no way its coming loose. attach you accessory of choice and enjoy. The most simple and least cumbersome Rail I have come across. I love this.
Trust me people having issues with this should never, have problems, how you could not notice the front set screw to ensure tightness to the trigger guard is beyond my understanding, it is simple to see. I guess the figure the second Allen wrench is just and extra. it is a different size as it fits the front set screw that fit the screw on the front accessed thru the gap at the top of the clam shell side pieces.
Pros:
  • super simple design.
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Picatinny rail

Fits Para-ordnance great

by Browning Rocks, from KS, United States Written on August 25, 2018
This rail fits the Par-ordnance 1911 7.45 LDA perfectly. Very easy install (2 minutes). It feels very solid. They advertise this as a 1911 rail. That is exactly what they mean. There are countless 1911 manufacturers. If your 1911 lower does not meet traditional specification the rail will probable not work for you. Fortunately for me, Para-ordnance lowers meet traditional specification. This rail has gotten a lot of unfair scrutiny from people who don’t really know their 1911s.
Pros:
  • Easy install. Very solid.
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Home defense light or red dot rail.

Decent for the dough

by pro, from ME, United States Written on August 1, 2015
Works very well, I did file it a bit to ensure no nicking of the trigger guard. Probably not necessary though. Wish I bought a handgun model with the rail integrated. Seems to be rugged but once the laser was attached it leaves a lot hanging down that can easily be knocked out of aim after you set it up. But it is quite decent for the money.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
Cons:
  • Slightly bulky to the eye

nicely planned, horribly engineered, badly advertised

by joleree, from VA, United States Written on February 17, 2015
This product looks so good out of the box. I should have taken a picture because by the time I got it to fit a 1st Gen Glock 17 as advertised for, after 45 minutes of grinding with a Dremel it was a black anodized and roughly hewn raw aluminum mess of a piece that finally fit the trigger guard of the weapon as it was supposed to.
A lot of reviewers have been (seemingly) unhappy with this piece and I have to count myself among them, if the screw size is an issue, include other sets and if the thing is going to require purchaser machining because one size DOES NOT fit all as advertised. Warn us.

Madglo Glock

by georgel910, from NC, United States Written on September 8, 2014
I bought this knowing it was not for my glock 27. However i wanted a accessory rail on my glock for a tactical light I was able to adapt this to my glock 27 without to much problem. However i did have to do some grinding on the adapter to make it fit. It looks good and works well, looks like it was made for my glock.

Law Enforcement

by Spotswood, from VA, United States Written on August 3, 2014
This rail required a lot more effort to install than I'd hoped for. I was installing it on my P228, but it just didn't fit right. I ended up having to take a little bit off the rail with a Dremel to be able to get the thing to fit. Once installed, the weapon could not fit the holsters I have for the P229 with a light.

Glock rail

by Legacy Reviewer, from CO, United States Written on September 24, 2013
OMG ! No way this was fit tested at factory.. I used Vise-Grips,chanl locs,2 hands AND my knees ALL together to try to get screws to engage. Not going to happen with these screws. they should be 1/16 to 1/8 in. longer. Makes me wonder if it would even stay on the weapon during use, IF you could even install it. BOGUS. go back to R&D
Pros: Good idea for Gen 1 Pistol
Cons: WILL Not connect to pisto
