NCStar ATAK 3 rail scope mount- pass on this
Picked this item up at a gun show and after some trimming and work got it mounted,First thing off was the color, the finish on the mount seems durable enough but color was much darker than the parkerizing on my rifle, that aside with the scope mounted on the rail and with the set screws (2) at the back to stablize the mount tightened there was still a small amount of shake at the front of the mount, after some shimming under the front hold down clamp I was able to remove most of it... with the mounting done and ready and it really did look tough, I was off to the range.. at the range I set my ...

Terribly Terrible
The price is cheap and it’s still not worth wasting your money on! Trust me this cover is garbage. I would’ve gave it less starts if it allowed me to.

Bad machining
Product is garbage, don't frustrate yourself. I should of read the reviews ahead of time. Bad machining.No amount of filing or grinding will make it work.Unit is just off enough to pass you off. Again, don't waste your money.

Scope mount top cover
looks to be well made and perfect for mounting a smaall red dot scope on an AK style firearm especially an AK pistol or rifle that doesn't have the side rail already installed. It will probable have to be fitted to your firearm, but other than that it is a good buy. It has screws at the rear of the cover and an adjustable piece of metal at the front that help to stabilize the scope mount to maintain zero.

Great idea, needs attention to measurments
I ordered this for my USA made Century RAS AK -47. Finish was a great match. Fit was very bad. Had to do extensive filing and fitting on the right side for safety lever clearance. Some tweaking on the front was needed for a tight fit. The rear hole took a lot of filing and fitting. The allen head cap screws look terrible
and I replaced them with shorter allen head set screws. With so many AK-47's that were made all over the world I think NcStar tried to use an average to make this mount. You are better off with a side mount that takes no modifications.

Top Cover AK scope mount
I should have read the other reviews before I ordered. It lasted shots and then fell off and could not be reattached.

Quality control could be better
Okay, first off, it's for an AK. I bought this for an el cheapo red dot for short range plinking, NOT for benchrest competition at a thousand yards.
I was expecting to have to modify the length, as described in the product info, which turned out to be unnecessary for my rifle. The reason I'm rating this 3 stars is because the square hole for the cover release button required an excessive amount of filing. There's no reason that shouldn't be a perfect fit from the factory. You'll need a file small enough to clean up about a 3/8ths inch hole. I also had to do some bending at the front to get a slop free fit. Once I got those problems squared away, the fit is sold enough to keep it from wobbling too far off zero. Some of the features I liked is it's easy to remove unneeded rails and the top rail is see through so you can still use the stock iron sights with optics installed. If you're after an inexpensive solution for attaching a red dot, reflex sight or laser, this is good enough to do the job. I wouldn't recommend it for installing good glass, but then I wouldn't recommend installing good glass on an AK to start with. Other than an obnoxious amount of fooling around to get it installed, it's good enough to do what it's supposed to do.
