I had planned to put this modestly priced scope on a moderately priced airgun that I use for pest control but I needed something on a short timeline to put on an AR-15 so I tossed it on and banged out a couple hundred rounds. I am very pleased and a bit surprised at how good this is. Smooth zoom and clicks work well. Glass is quite good. The only 'budget' feel comes from the illumination. The entire reticle glows dimly red or blue. Turning the dial from 1 to 5 on either color doesn't appreciably change the intensity of that glow. So basically it's an on or off proposition to red or blue, depending which direction the dial is turned, which works just fine anyways. Also, I prefer to only have the center of the reticle illuminated. I can't really complain because, let's get real, to have an illuminated reticle at all in a scope of this functional quality is just thicker icing on the cake.
Durability was tested inadvertently. I had cut the tape on the box and inspected the scope a few days before and when I went to mount the scope I lifted the box and it came apart. The scope tumbled out, struck concrete directly on the front edge of the objective hard enough to gouge and bend the corner of the tube. (@&^%$#!) Works fine.
This is truly a fine value. I have an ACOG on my other AR but don't feel like spending that much all the time. I can't really think of anything lacking here that would justify spending hundreds on a high end brand.
