f you are just starting out building blowback ar's, and im talking ACTUALLY BUILDING them not just dropping an upper on a lower and saying you built it. YOU MAY WANT TO CONSULT A GUNSMITH or someone thats built one. New frontier makes very nice components that are tough as nails. Having said that I will point out ALOT of common sense goes into these, ESP this caliber. 40s&w IS NOT a round nosed caliber so u will need to polish the chamber and possibly cut a feed ramp in but not much is needed, due to government manufactured shortages I haven't been able to put as many rounds down range as I would like but this barrel is amazingly accurate for the caliber, and runs like a dream. I didn't order via optics planet but directly from nfa. Paired with their upper reciever for lrbho on a diff brand lower, this build is awesome and runs like a dream and lovks back every time even with cheap kci mags.

I realize for 40 caliber there’s not many choices. Don’t choose this one until they fix the problem. Barrel has a feeding problem maybe 1 out of 4 will feed in correctly. The rest jam up and put a crease in the brass ruining the casing. Comparing this barrel to my 9mm AR barrel from another brand, the 40 practically doesn’t have a feeding ramp explains why it jams so much. You’d think for the price you’d get decent product.
