Most Helpful Positive Review Nightforce lives up to their name
After reading the review from bmorgil, I felt compelled to rebuttal. I have spent time as a precision marksmen an many walks of life from my career in the military, to competitive shooting, to hunting and anything in between and I have used optics manufactured by almost everyone out there. At the ...

Most Helpful Negative Review badshot330 opinion
badshot330, I find it interesting that you and I appear to be quite involved with shooting skill. I won't question your credentials so please don't question mine. I am also a person who grew up fought and shot competivaly since I was 14. Camp Perry is less than 20 Minutes from my house. I am there...

Could not be happier

by Bob the gun guy, Verified Owner from NM, United States Written on December 2, 2022
Great scope. This is the second one I have purchased and It does not disappoint. Crystal clear glass and the reticle is great for on the fly shooting. Zero stop turrets work every time after a smooth dial up. Only problem is that it didn’t come with a sticker!

Zero Stuck

by Tallman, from TX, United States Written on May 19, 2020
My return to zero got stuck and I had to send it in (probably my fault), no problem. They had it fixed and returned within a week, has worked flawlessly since. I would not own anyother kind but Nightforce! Have shot animals out to 633 yds and it was dead on.

This scope i immaculate. I put it on my Browning Xbolt 300win and sighted it in within 4 shots out to 300 yards 1 inch grouping. I have shot 600 and a 1000 yards with this scope and the dials are true as can be..

Outstanding from 50 to 1000 yrds

by Glass eye, from NC, United States Written on December 30, 2019
It's a good one if you are willing to spend the money. When you run out of ammo, you can see the craters on the moon. Full moon will blind you. Crisp glass 1000 yrds scope all the way. Ranging is on.
Pros:
  • zero stop, great turrets, clearest glass
Cons:
  • shade tube can get loose
Best Used for:
  • shooting distance

NXS 8-32x56

by Heinrich8000, from Hessia, Germany Written on October 5, 2018
Usually I am very amazed by Nightforce and their rifle scopes. In this case I had
bad luck and got a version which couldn´t track correctly and had dead clicks. To
explain what it means : I sighted the rifle scope in and when trying to compensate
the drop of the bullet through the elevation turret, there was no correction. I hope
it did not happen also to other customers that don´t speak out about this failure.
Sadly also a 2nd rifle scope, a NF 8-32x56 Benchrest Version had the same problem. I
hope Nightforce finds out about and can fix that issue. I wish, I would have stayed
with Leupold. For more than 2.400 € I wish it would be made in USA by well educated
specialists and checked twice before sending it to the customers. I am also very sad
to make a 3 star review for the nightforce since the US Nightforce scopes were amazing.
Pros:
  • usually very reliable
  • USA made version is best
Cons:
  • none if they would work
Best Used for:
  • as a club for close quarter combat

My 4th Nightforce

by Josh, from MN, United States Written on September 29, 2018
I just purchased my second 8-32x56 Nightforce Scope. It is the 4th Nightforce I own. I am interested in long range shooting and have a few friends I go prairie dog shooting with. We all dial our scopes for elevation and windage. This scope dials so precisely it is incredible. I can shoot at 950 yards, then dial back down to 325 and it is spot on. I do this all day long and have never had a correction based on how the scope performs. The clarity of the glass is exceptional. Even when the mirage effect from the heat starts to build I can still maintain a good sight picture past what the other scopes in our group can. Another thing I really like about the scope are the crisp adjustments on the turret dials. If I am making a small adjustment I don't even have to look at the dial. I can hear and feel each click clearly. This has been a real issue with other makes of scopes I have owned in the past. I know these scopes are pricey, but I truly believe you get your money's worth.
Pros:
  • Accurate adjustments
  • Precise
  • clairity and zoom ability
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • long distance accurate shooting

Resistance is futile

by Bob, from VA, United States Written on April 12, 2018
Rolled my eyes at the die-hard NF fanboys for years. Almost choked spending half the price of this scope on it's predecessor, the one with the amazing, replace for any reason warranty. After 2 in a row that required some of that amazing warranty service I totally lost confidence in them. As a hand loader and aspiring precision shooter, I work hard to eliminate any variables and when my performance isn't up to par I question my load development, rifle and myself. Disassembling, tightening, redeveloping loads... On too many occasions it turned out to be a bad scope. Now I get it! This scope tracks beautifully, the glass is clear and sharp and I never question it's performance. As much as I hate to admit it, I've joined the ranks of the NF fanboys club. I believe this scope could make any gun a good shooter. Suck it up, spend the money and don't look back.

Great scope

by Jorge, from CA, United States Written on March 6, 2018
Haven’t had the chance to mount this scope but within all itself, it looks to be very sturdy, the glass is very clear and I’m really liking the mil-dot reticle. I truly can’t wait to put it to use and get it dialed in. I do understand these optics are very highly revered so I have no doubt mine will live up to the talk.
Pros:
  • Everything
Cons:
  • Nothing yet.
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • Long range shooting

Nightforce NXS 8 x 32

by Richard Parman, Verified Owner from NE, United States Written on January 8, 2018
I am new to long range shooting, but, this scope makes me wish I had started a long time ago. I can see why all of the reviews have been so positive. Setup and zero at 100 yards was easy with sub MOA results. The optics are very impressive, and live up to all of the hype. I was a little worried about the 32 magnification. However, after a few rounds I see no real downside, optics are very clear at 100 yards, and long range is awsome. The MOAR reticle is very simple to use, holdovers and elevation adjustments are easy to make. I am glad I spent the money.
