Best scope I’ve ever owned. Its built like a tank , has crystal clear glass , and has plenty of elevation adjustment to shoot long ranges. It is a little on the heavy side , but doesn’t bother me as I mostly shoot from a bench or prone position with a bipod.
Pros:
- Hd glass , build quality , turret adjustments

This scope is incredible. Robust construction, crystal clear glass, crisp turret movement make it a thing of beauty. I love the zero stop feature which makes returning to zero a breeze. The F1 focal plane means I can size targets as any distance and pull distance on target without have to range them. This allows for quicker shots on target and faster followups. Everything you could ever want from a top of the line scope is incorporated into the design. Great light transmission from the 56mm objective is easy on the eyes even at max power.
Pros:
- durable
- well built
- easy to use
Best Used for:
- Long range stationary shooting

This is a very impressive scope. Very good light transmission. Clarity and target definition also very good. I find the detents are a little mushy. In my opinion Vortex has better detents. I shot this scope with the early morning sun slightly to the right of my face. I got some halo however I did not have the sun shade with me, which would have corrected that problem. The reticle was very friendly to use and did not clutter or obstruct the target. Flip up scopes caps are very good and fit tight so they stay in place. The parallax adjustment does not match the true distance and is a little too easy to move. Eye relief is very good and still very accurate if you cheek weld is off a little bit. I have never owned a NightForce scope before this one and the ATACR is a great place to start. I have many Vortex scopes up to the HD. I recently purchase the AMG but I have not mounted it on a rifle for comparison. There are many features about this scope that I like. However not enough room to write the book it would take in the space I have. All in all I am very impressed with this scope and would recommend it to anyone wanting a top of the line scope for any type of shooting.
Pros:
- Great quality worth the price

This scope is amazing. I also own the Vortex Razor HD Gen 2. The one thing I like about the Nightforce over the Vortex is the weight. Overall great product and cant go wrong with this purchase. OP was great to work with and would buy from them again.

This is my 1st Nightforce Scope and let me just say it is the very finest glass I have ever looked through and shoot! Incredible light gathering in dusk situation, and the ability to choose from black, to red to green reticle color is unmatched! It aint cheap, but it will never need replacing! Can't wait to dial it up past 1500 yds!
Pros:
- Ability to reset zero
- Large turrets are easy to read
Best Used for:
- Extreme Long Range Shooting

Great scope. Very clear optics. The Horus reticle is very complicated. One has to read the entire booklet to understand how to use it. Reading the wind at distances still has to be learned. Once you can estimate the wind at a distance, the scope reticle can be used to make the adjustment without using the turrets.
Best Used for:
- Long distance hunting and target shooting

After months of research and running around checking out various scopes I finally decided on the Nightforce ATACR 5x25 first focal plane. I am very pleased with my decision. Great scope! Crystal clear glass from low to high power. Great retical too. Buy one and you will not be dissapointed. Optics Planet shipped it out super fast too.
Thanks Optics Planet. You guys are awesome!
Jeff

First let me say that I am 55 yrs old and with age my eyes are not what they used to be. I was worried about the tremor 3 reticle and being able to see the grid when at the lowest magnification. At 5X it is small but very readable. At 5X I am normally shooting at a target <100 yards so the grid really does not come into play at that level of magnification. The glass and speed of this scope (once you learn how to use the tremor 3 grid)is mind blowing (I know why the military went with this reticle). Three additional items that I recommend. 1) nightforce - angle degree indicator 2)accuracy 1st - scope level 3) LaRue tactical - LTM 845 QD scope mount
This is mounted on a Ruger Precision 6.5 creedmoor with long range rifles inc match barrel and upgrades. shoots fast and accurate on target plates out to 1,500 yards.
